HASAN PEKMEZCI
(Konya-Beysehir, 1945)
He studied at the Istanbul Çapa
Teachers’ School Seminar, where
he studied under Ilhan Demirci, Selahattin
Taran, Hidayet Gülen and Enver
Naci Göksen. In 1968 he graduated
from the Ankara Gazi Education Institute
Painting Department. After teaching
at various schools, he began teaching
at the Ankara Gazi Education Institute
Painting Department, and went on to
Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine
Arts in 1987. In 1992 he published a
book about serigraphy. He has had 39
individual exhibitions, of which nine
were abroad. He has won 22 awards, including
the 1982 and 1984 State Painting Sculpture
Exhibition Success Awards. The artist
is presently an instructor in the Hacettepe
University Faculty of Fine Arts Department
of Painting.
