Kayihan Keskinok
(Izmir, 1923)
He attended the Gazi Education Institute
Painting-Work Department from 1942-1945,
and worked under Refik Epikman and Malik
Aksel. With a scholarship from the Swiss
Government, he worked in Lausanne at
the Fine Arts School as assistant instructor
during 1960-1961. He has opened 46 individual
exhibitions, and has won ten awards
in total, including the 1973 Ministry
of Culture Atatürk Painting Competition
First Prize Award, the 50th Anniversary
Competition Atatürk and Republic
Award, and the 1981 Senate of the Republic
Award. The artist defines his art as
a subjectivism which is based on poetic,
intellectual, and imaginary inspirations.
From 1983 onwards, he has managed a
private workshop and continues to work
as a freelance artist. |
