MUSTAFA AYAZ (Trabzon-Çaykaya,
1938)
He first gained an interest in painting
as a student at the Erzurum-Pulur Village
Institute boarding student. Upon the
encouragement of his teacher he participated
in the Istanbul Çapa Elementary
education painting seminar. In 1960
he entered the GEE Painting department.
He began his art education in the workshop
of Adnan Turani, who had recently returned
from Germany. From 1963-1966 he taught
painting in Çorum. In 1966 he
entered GEE Painting department as an
assistant instructor. He went on to
work in the GÜGSF painting department.
In 1988 he retired as professor from
the Bilkent University. He has participated
in many local and international joint
exhibitions.
His paintings feature figures on
sound designs and color background.
They are based on the belief that
the creative sensitivity has to result
from the reality of life. The direct
or indirect interaction of the artist
with the large environment he lives
in is reflected in his paintings as
natural pictorial facts.
