Turkey only finished seventh at the 2003 Volleyball World Cup in Japan but 19-year-old Neslihan Demir did rather better than that. She was the tournament's second highest scorer and second most productive server.

Neslihan who plays club volleyball for Vakifbank Gunes Sigorta, also proved a big favorite with the fans and is receiving offers to appear in TV commercials for Japanese companies.
