TEKFEN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra, also known as the “Sound of 3 Seas“ and “Peace” Orchestra will perform concerts on March 19 th, 20 th, 21 st, 2004 at Tokyo's Bunkyo Civic Hall.

The orchestra established in 1992, has expanded to include musicians from 23 countries of the 3 seas namely the Black sea, the Caspian sea and the East Mediterranean.

The unique feature of the orchestra is that this region of the 3 seas is the most troubled area burdened with all types of conflicts, disputes, armed clashes and terror. Yet our musicians coming from these regions show to the world that they can get together and make music in a friendly spirit, in harmony, calling for peace in musical language.

The second most important feature of this orchestra is its policy to embody soloists who have seldom appeared in a symphonic orchestra playing on authentic instruments of their respective regions.

Besides being a very successful endeavour, the orchestra is a perfect example of the way in which international differences can be turned into a wealth of beauty through the universal language of art.
